It is located in one of the areas with the most extreme climates in the entire Iberian Peninsula and with one of the highest depopulation rates in all of Spain. The project aims to recover the forests of this historic area, which in the past was a large forest ecosystem. The junipers that once inhabited this area were used as wood for the ships that sailed the waters in colonial times. The ecosystem has not been able to recover due to the erosion of the exposed soil, which suffers from high temperature variations, significant precipitation gradients and strong winds. The species we plant here are adapted to these conditions, and they grow slowly but surely!
